Breath in a bottle – providing oxygen to remote South Sudan hospitals
MAF and AMREF (Air Ambulance Service in Africa) have joined forces to ensure hospitals in South Sudan receive life-saving medical oxygen. MAF assists in delivering oxygen cylinders to remote locations with limited road access. This collaboration has greatly improved healthcare services, benefiting pregnant mothers and critically ill patients.
Empowering women in Biblical leadership skills
MAF had the privilege of transporting 27 women from the Evangelical Brotherhood Church to attend a Bible leadership course in Kurgark. These women, serving in Papua New Guinea’s East and West Sepik Provinces, joined a gathering of 200 women, which aimed to empower and equip women leaders for their home churches. Participants found encouragement in Paul’s story of overcoming challenges despite resource limitations.
Medevac saves the life of a mum suffering birth complications
MAF’s timely flight saved the life of Bernadette, a 34-year-old mum suffering from serious blood loss during childbirth. The smooth 15-minute transfer from Atauro Island was crucial, bypassing a rough 3-hour sea journey. MAF’s medevac services have assisted over 3,000 patients in Timor-Leste since 2007 – with 49 patients flown between January and April of this year!
